Test vom 14.12.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,7,7,7,10,7 - 7,35

Bottle. OK bready and citricly hoppy aroma. Clear golden colour, small white head. Crisp, dry flavour. Nicely aroma hopped, good citric hoppiness.

Bottle, as Waidbauer feinherb Pils. Bready, farty aroma. Clear dark golden colour. Big stable white head. The flavour is slightly sweet and slightly malty with a little asparagus. Late, but noticable, unpleasantly rough bitterness with more asparagus.

(bottle) Clear amber colour with a big foamy lacy head. Definitely not the expected Dortmunder/Helles: Toasted malty nose with caramel and a grassy hoppy background. Sweet caramel-malty taste, medium body, sweetbitter malty finish with a touch of liquorice. Rather a Vienna or Märzen, thus surprisingly drinkable for such a cheap beer.

Beer no.22 of my Slovenian beerhunt. Poured a huge fluffy white head that went away at a medium pace leaving scattered lacing. Yellow colour. Nose: Lemon, malt and honey, but just a tad too sharp, but turned out to be the best feature of this beer. Taste....sour...bloody sour, some cardboard and grapes that don’t even try to fight the sourness. Strong bitter, and sour aftertaste. To say that this is well hopped is correct, but with what ? Wild hops growing at the Frankenthal dump ? A disappointment from a brewer that pleasantly surprised me before with its Felsgold hefe.

(Bottle 50 cl) Fully golden and hence darker than your typical Maibock, not much head though. Very soft and malty beer with a marked sweetness, but in no way cloying. Potent and solid with a warming alcohol. Maibocks are rarely a favourite of mine, but this one I really liked. 060802

(Bottle 50 cl) Dark golden, with a dense head and a heavy carbonation. Rather malty with quite some bitterness in the finish - more bitter than what’s usual for the style. Strong - but needs some body and flavour though. 200702

(Bottle 50 cl) Very pale golden, slightly hazy, very small head. Hoppy, flowery nose. Lots of malt and a pronounced hoppy finish. 170705

Canned. Pale golden with rich, airy lasting head. Dry with light, clean body and grassy bitter finish. Run of the mill.
