Description
In 2004, Oronce de Beler decided to leave Paris. Passionnate about the Burgundy pinot noir, he settled in Vosne-Romanée. His experiences grew one after another: a wine training in Beaune, several vinification internships in family domaines, and a first business offering horse drawn plowing. It was through chance meetings, discussions, and many tastings that La Maison Romane came to life. During the 2005 harvests, Oronce de Beler bought his first grapes.

From the very beginning, he vinified all his vintages in the same way, that is to say with the least amount of intervention and sulfur possible, to respect the fruit and its terroir, and always with whole harvesting. Since 2017, La Maison Romane has moved to Nuits-Saint-Georges, with a more spacious vaulted cellar and thus the possibility to see bigger.

Since the 2020 vintage, La Maison Romane has also given its name to a production of vintage wine beers. These beers produced in limited series are brewed with grape juice, fruit or wild plants from Burgundy, thanks to indigenous yeasts extracted from our fermenting wine vats. They are made for aging but can be appreciated as soon as they are bottled.

Bottle shared at tasting. Reddish color, small off-white head. Smell and taste lightly malts, red fruit, grapes, Orval-bretty and a bit dry which suits the beer. This is awesome. Wow, love it.

Bottle. Color: Lightly hazy pale golden, stable frothy white head. Nice lacing. Aroma: Malty, floral, herbal, a bit vinuous. Taste: Floral, herbal and yeasty notes, a bit of Blond and Saison, a little vinuous, fruity hints (sweetish grape, hints of stone fruit and sweet apples), light bitter hoppy backbone, hints of wood. Dry and sweetish finish. Moderate to over moderate sweet. Medium body, just below average carbonation. Elegant. Would be a perfect beer in a chic restaurant.

Bottle. Color: Hazy golden, fast diminishing white head. Aroma: Malty, spicy and apple notes. Taste: Like a Saison - apple blend. Malty, spicy notes, notes of apple, apple skin and wood. Quite a lot of tannins. Some rural funk. Moderate sweet and light bitterness. Medium bosy, just below average carbonation. Dry-ish mouthfeel at finish. Nice.
