2006: Golden-brown colour. Demerara, cherry, brandy and some medicinal phenols in the aroma (thankfully not the bubblegum of past years but still...phenols in a doppelbock?). The body is sweet, fairly thick. I mean it’s almost syrupy. Demerara and tea dominate with more of the brandy and cherry notes, maybe some wood. Sweet, alcoholic finish. Potent and brash, but unrefined as doppelbocks go. This year’s scores a few points higher than previous editions.

2005: Bronze-amber colour. Hints of peach and bubblegum in the aroma. This bubblegum had me thinking dubbel when I first tasted it and though I can see more doppelbock qualities this time around (at the brewery) I still have to put on my style police hat with regards to the bubblegum. Earthy, slightly caramelly malts are the focus of the flavour, with light toffee notes. A sweetish, chewy beer. Ar 6, Ap 4, F 6, P 3, Ov 11 = 3.0

Gorgeous mahogany color, lasting beige head.Nose of brown sugar & a hint of cherry.Sweet malty taste, light alcohol heat , but the slight metallic taste spoils an otherwise decent beer. A touch of hops present in the finish

Dark brown coloured body with a nice tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and smoke. Medium-bodied; Light tasting malt and some bitterness in the taste. Overall, a nice light-bodied stout-definitely great to try! I sampled this beer on 15-May-2004 at the May RB Party in Toronto, Ontario.

Hazy amber, beige head.Light fresh hop nose.Medium hop profile with lots of balancing malt.Unfortunately, the malt seems to take something away from the hops, making the beer seem less hoppy...undesirable for the style

Starts nice with a peaty, whisky nose and contains some nice rich malty flavour, but overall is too lightbodied for the style. I thought this was there crappiest seasonal so far

Malty caramel nose, amber color, apricot, buttery popcorn flavour, nice malty finish. Like most of their seasonals, not bad, but nothing outstanding.

Subtle hints of caramel and maple. Obviously trying to cash in on the honey brown market and like many beers in this market segment, it kinda sucks.
