Description
The tradition of our house goes back to Wolfgang Pfeffer, who founded the brewery in 1889. He made the recipe for our steam beer. His demands on quality and taste are still the guideline for our art of brewing. (bottle) Clear, amber colour with a medium-sized and slightly tanned foamy head. Bready and hearty cara-malty aroma with earthy and leafy notes, accompanied by a touch of liquorice and a whiff of smoke. Sweet flavour with a tinge of bitterness, medium to full bodied with a calm carbonation. Cara-malt-character, earthy and slightly bready taste with liquorice-spice; sweet and slightly bitter hoppy finish with present notes of alcohol. Warming but still not too fat Doppelbock. 13.VII.11

Lahev z Pivoteky: Deep golden to light amber coloured, smaller stable white layer; restrained caramelly-toasty nose with a sweet fruity touch and suppressed herbal hops; modrate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; swet and slightly bitter finish with fruity and hoppy traces. Well drinkable, easy going Doppelbock......

bottle, kindly donated by pivnizub. Deep brown colour, mid-sized, creamy beige head. Caramel, toffee, roasted malts, roast flavours, dark dried fruit. Very nice.

Bottle 500ml. w. swing top @ home on the terrace.[ Courtesy of HDer ]. Clear medium to dark amber colour with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, sweet malt, fruity. Flavour is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, sweet malt, nutty notes, light spicy hops. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Zu gleichen Teilen herb und hefig startet dieses Weizen. Die starke Karbonisierung verhindert die Ausbreitung der Hefe, sief ällt sogar zurück, das Bier befindet sich so nahe der Wässrigkeit, die Herbe dagegen ist konstant. Später – das Bier ist bereits wässrig – wird es säuerlich und laff. Entäuschend.
