In 1894 the Obergärige Brauerei Heinrich Reissdorf was founded by Heinrich Reissdorf in the Cologne Severins neighbourhood. In 1923 the brewery started to brew bottom-fermented beers and it became the Privat-Brauerie Heinrich Reissdorf. Through the years it stayed in the family.
In 1996, the Privat-Brauerie Heinrich Reissdorf acquired today's company premises in the industrial area of Cologne-Rodenkirchen. With the new production facility, a brewery was created, which is equipped with the latest brewery technology and meets the highest quality standards.

Gold with a frothy, white head of modest duration. Aroma is grainy with hints of apple and spices. Taste is very mildly bitter with a mild, lemony twist at the finish. Simple. Body stays fairly light, mild carbonation. Drinkable.

On tap at prost pours out golden topped with a white head. Nose is nice light grain some grass and a touch of spice. Taste is more of the nice malts bread grass and spice.

Klare goldene Farbe mit weißer Schaumkrone. Getreidiger, leicht hopfiger Geruch. Geschmacklich getreidig, leicht grasig hopfig. Mittlere Süße mit leichter Bitterkeit, leichter bis mittlerer Körper mit spürbarer Kohlensäure.

Not my favorite style but certainly appreciated. The 500 ml can came from Half Time not so long ago. But now it is being opened and tilted into my oversize New Belgium globe glass. A clear bright gold with a consistent cover of snow white, very fine bubbles. I smell citrus and a bit of grain. The taste is white bread, lemon, maybe a hint of spice and it is hard to say much beyond that. Down the middle, no surprises. Decent

Aromas are wet grain, malt and hops. Flavors are somewhat similar to nose, a little more sweet than bitter with decent carbonation. Good body and finish follows flavors. Nice kolsch.
