Not that often I really get that fooled. Could not get a taster. So I had to choose between two that seemed to be a fine choice. Hmm spicy and zesty lemon…..halleluja. And I believed in it.
Clear golden color with a fine white head. Moderate intensity in the aroma. Medium body and an ok carbonation. Tad sweet and a moderate bitterness. Mellow malty, mild grain and mild fruity flavor. Spicy??
Oh no. It was a decent easy drinkable golden ale. But no spices, and zesty lemon what?

Cask @ Dirty Dick’s, Halifax. Extremely dark with a small smooth head. Smooth tasting also, with a fair roasted malt taste, and a slightly more stated aroma.

Cask @ Exmouth Arms, Finsbury, London. Golden with a creamy head. Has a hoppy-fruity taste, with the latter well stated in this respect, although its nose has a heavy sugar influence and is less appealing.

Cask gravity at Kent & East Sussex Railway BF 2016. Very dark brown black beer lasting tan head. Powder chocolate aroma malty. A little dark fruit sourness damson dark plum. Rather good. Touch of ash smoke. Good condition. Ok dark mild.

Cask @ Dirty Dick’s, Halifax. Golden with a thick creamy head. Has a strength, and quite a dense tasting texture for it. There’s a hoppiness to be found here though.

Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 7/4/2016. Pale gold with a slight, white, head. Sharp, lemony fruits. biscuity malts, some floral hops and a dryish finish. Fine.
