Description
This brewery started brewing in 1905 taking its name from the manager Henry Boon Clark. They ceased brewing in 1960. However brewing restarted in July 1982 in a purpose built brew house within the original brewery. Brewing ceased in 2017, with production being transferred to Castle Eden using the Westgate Brewery name.

Cask @ Volunteer Arms, GBBF 2009. Pours a golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity citrus hoppy aroma. Fruity malty citrus hoppy flavor. Has a fruity malty citrus hoppy finish with a slightly bitter aftertaste.

Cask @ GBBF 09, Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, England.Clear light to medium yellow orange color with virtually none head. Aroma is moderate malty, hay - straw, toasted, pepper, toffee notes, light hoppy, grass. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is light medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is flat. [20090806]

Cask @ GBBF 09, Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, England.Clear medium yellow orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, plastic, light hoppy, citrus. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20090806]

Golden with a small white head. Aroma of fruit, grass and sulphur. Sweet and grassy flavour with a decent hoppy finish

Yellow with a small white head. Aroma of diacetyl, fruit and grass. Dry and herbal flavour with a hint of rubber phenols.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms, Bristol 3/11/09. Slightly hazy golden colour, with a tight white head. Hop, citrus fruit aorma with plenty of grapefruit and some sweet malts. Flavour had more of the same, with a hint of tropical fruit too and a long, dry finish. Good.

20th June 2008. Well balanced bitter. Actually not that bitter at all Orangey fruity note balanced by smooth malt.

Bottle at RBESG grand tasting. Hand bottle from cask. Hazy gold lasting white head. Got strong and pale syrup some decent rose petal hoppy but not very bitter. Acidic light citrus fruits but not over bitter. Really chewy hops.

Cask handpull at The Harlequin, Sheffield, RBESG 09. Pale golden color. Medium tio large head. Malty aroma and taste with some artificial lemon hops.Bad.

Cask@GBBF 2009. Yellow color, not much head. Green apples and lime in the nose. Light apple fruity flavor, plastic mouthfeel, lemony hops. Not very exciting.
