Can from trade with CLW--thanks, Chris! Opaque, dark brown, light sparkle, thin head with fair retention, trace lacing. Aroma is strong interplay of roasted malt, toffee, molasses, coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa. Taste follows aroma. Smooth, creamy texture, soft carbonation, finish as taste with roasted bitterness. Not only good strength and complexity but the components wonderfully alternate taking center stage. Not as sweet as Samiclaus.

Eli's draught, 6/27/26.
Nose is reserved, subtle, earthy. Things you'd expect from an "English" IPA. Also it's nitro so that impedes aroma, as well. But it's clean, primarily malty, with twiggy, slightly herbal hop notes behind it. More of a cellar mustiness than a bright or vivacious fruitiness.
Malty but not too sweet with a strong nuttiness and lots of the earthy and lightly herbal hop notes to gently balance. Soft and lightly watery from the nitro, with an interesting yeastiness showing the aforementioned musty cellar quality, for lack of a better descriptor. Super unique. Almost reminds me of something like Tetleys, but not nearly so thin and watery, nor filtered/pasteurized.

16 oz can from the brewery.
The flavor has layers of malt. Caramel, toffee, raisins, fig. The Cacao nibs show in the finish. The alcohol is mellow and the sweetness helps cover it up for sure. Has a mild alcohol warming is felt after the sip. It warms the belly without showing alcohol in the taste.
The brewer was going for Samichlaus Classic and hit his mark. Well done sir!

16 oz draft at Republic GastroPub, Bloomfield, CT. Crystal clear golden appearance. Flavor is soft corn, bread, very light lingering salt. It shows a mild salinity in the finish. Light bodied. Crisp texture. The brewer hit his mark for a lager that would pair well with Mexican food.

12 oz draft. Aroma has Bready, honey -ish malt and mineral notes. Wonderful malt blend in the flavor. Bread and honey dominate with hints of minerals and very soft toffee. Also has a hint of acid with a weak hop in order to give some balance. Super crisp texture with a great malt background. Great.

12 oz draft. Aroma and flavor or subtle. Soft bubblegum, banana, and bread like malt. Flavor overall is mild with a lighter body (as it should be ) Overall, drinkable with the German yeast still having a bolder character. Good.

16 oz can shared by tfontana. Thank you Tom! Aroma is strong citrus, mellow minerals and a hint of lemongrass. Flavor is a copy of aroma. Crisp texture. The lemongrass note make this so refreshing after A bombardment of barley wines!

Pours dark amber with a thin cafe-colored head. Aroma of misc fruits and malt. Taste has plum and malt notes, some lingering earthy tones, grainy. Palate is heavier than expected, with more of the same dark fruits. Good.
