Draft/Fest. A- Malty. A- Brown color, dark liquid, beige head. T- Malty. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, bland finish. O- Pretty malty. When they say slight roast and coffee flavor with a light finish they damn well mean it. Hardly noticeable.

Draft. A- Chocolate cake batter. A- Dark brown color, dark liquid, light brown head. T- Chocolate cake, slightly sweet, slightly roasty. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- Shockingly good. I'll admit, I never expected Pint Nine to amount to much but each time I have a beer from this it seems to get a little bit better and more promising. This pretty much tasted like brownie or chocolate cake batter. Not a bad thing at all.

Draft/Fest. A- Cherry, pomegranates, cocoa, whisky. A- Black color, black liquid, brown head. T- Pomegranates, cocoa, mild bitterness, roasty. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- Cool take that I've not tried before. Seems like a fairly standard stout base with a good amount of bourbon showing through. The pomegranates stole the show though. Didn't know how it would work but it did. Doesn't add any tartness really but a nice fruity depth that tastes just like pomegranate. Almost has a mild cherry flavor. Worked well.

The brewer was gracious enough to give us a sample of this stout before its official release on Saturday for thier grand opening. Aroma is bold rye whiskey, light coffee, light toast. The body is bery light for a stout. The barrel helped this immensely. The lighter Stout does work here.

4 oz. sample at the brewery. Pours nearly black with a thin white head. Aroma is chocolate, spent coffee grinds. Flavor is the same, cocoa, light coffee, weak roast in the finish. For a 5.5 % ABV, it is almost what it should be.
