Pint can. Dark chocolate malt aroma with notes of roasted malt, coffee, smoke, bread and grainy malt. Pours black with a thin tan head that has good retention and decent lacing. Starts with dark chocolate, bread and grainy malt flavors. Finishes smooth but a touch dry with smoke, coffee and roasted malt flavors. Good dark lager.

Taster at VooDoo. Clear, amber color, with a small, tan head. The aroma is rye toast, cherry, pumpernickel, and heavy pecan. Sweet and malty, with a minimal bitterness. Light to medium body, smooth, and clean. Interesting and tasty.

Sample at the taproom. Brown-black pour with a medium frothy light beige head that diminishes steadily to a film. Sticky small patches of lace. Malty aroma with coffee and vanilla notes. Medium body with a roasty malt and coffee character, with some vanilla and chocolate in the background. The finish is sweet and roasty with an Irish Cream coffee aftertaste. Above average overall.

Light-bodied with a tart mixed berry flavor, with wheat and doughy malt in the background. The finish is mildly sour with a berry aftertaste. Decent overall.
