0.5l can found at a Zielpunkt in Graz, shared with heavy. Poured a yellow-golden body with a thick white head that went away slowly. The nose is weak and a letdown, dust, alcohol, buttery/eggy. Blah. The taste... damn light.. empty, stale dustiness and malt, ,low hoppy bitteness. Blah again... really nothing special, and what little one can taste really isn’t something to brag about. They probably changed the recipe when they changed the design of the can.

Can, Bräu Union, 4.0%, purchased at the Interspar at the City Center West in Graz. Poured a golden body with a fluffy white head that went away fast. Light herbal hoppy nose, bit buttery, not unpleasant really. Watery taste, nice lemony hopiness, some honeyish malt, very light apple. Light bitter hoppy aftertaste, slightly chewy. Too subtle for its own good and while being far from being a really good beer, this is way better than expected.

Can. A clear, pale golden beer with a, more or less missing, white head. Fruity, sweet nose with pale malts. The same story goes for the flavor which has some bitterness to finish it off. Medium body with a nice level of carbonation. There’s pale malt and frutiyness too in the finish. A decent pale lager, at least there’s no off-flavors. (081108)

09/01 0.5 l bottle courtesy of ogivlado, thanks for sharing! It poured dark red to brown body with smaller brownish head. Weak aroma, some caramel with touch of coffee. Flavor of caramel, sweet sugar, some hints of coffee. Medium body with longer sweet sugary finish. Maybe a bit too sweet, even for the style and somehow fake, but I don’t have nothing against Doppelmalzes, so this was OK to me.

Bottled(500ml). -Reddish/brown coloured, medium sized cappuccino head, quite weak caramel nose. Very sweet caramel and molasses taste with notes of metal in the finish. I’m not (so) big "malzfan" only because of heavy sweetness.

0.5l bottle courtesy of ogivlado who brought it from Austria (thanks!), shared with him and heavy Poured a brown/red body with a a medium-big thick white head that went away fast. Weak nose, some coffee and dust, slightly lactic, chocolate? The taste is very sweet, caramel and coffee, some fake chocolate. Soft soapiness, weak notes of metal. Umm, not impressed.

Can (Brau Union), alc. 4.0 % (BB 05/2009). Golden color, small white head. Saaz-hoppy, a bit buttery Czech pils -like aroma. Very much typical Czech 10 plato like pils. Butterness, Bohemian hops, light lingering bitterness. Of course watery, but much better than I expected from Skol. Flavor seems to vary in different European versions.

Can, alc. 5.0 % BB 05/2009. Clear golden color, small white head. Sweet corn aroma, light cardboard too. Fizzy. Sweet apple-malty, harsh cheap hopping. Harsh, plasticky aftertaste. Tastes a bit alcoholic too. Cheap bulk lager.
