About
Inspired by norse mythology, 3 ravens tells the story of an unlikely trio: hugin, munin & jack. Hugin and munin were ravens loyal to the god odin who were sent on a quest to find the secret to human happiness. Jack, the third raven was sent by loki to rattle ’em with riddles. The three ravens forming to combine sight, knowledge and creativity to concoct a magic potion is much like our own story: a group of friends—banding together in their thornbury basement—to create unique australian beers.

Half pint at Basement Brewhouse, Bankstown. Looks like 'home brand' cola, smells like 'home brand\" cola. Tastes like flat Tizer! Finish actually has a yeasty sourness that reminds you this is a beer but seriously as a soft drink this would be poor.

From a 375ml can on 11/7/2018. Pours a slightly hazy golden with a small head. Has a quite strong tart, lime citrus nose - the yuzu I assume. Super cirtussy taste wise, with a combo of sweet, sour and bitter fruit presenting, with lime (and yuzu?) most prominent. The sweet up front is countered by a tart, zesty almost spicy bitterness, which makes it quite refreshing. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Enjoyable.

From a 375ml can on 24/6/2018. Pours a slightly hazy light to medium golden with a medium to big bright white head. Th pose features lots of passionfruit and lychee. In the mouth, there more passionfruit and lychee, along with a bit of pineapple. Not really much malt to speak of. Medium sweet with a firmish, slightly lemony, resniy bitterness. Medium bodied with moderate to average carbonation. A solid enough fruit forward IPA, but probably won't rock your world..

From a 375ml can on 8/6/2018. Pours a very dark cloudy amber with a small head. The nose is pretty standard fruity/juicy NEIPA. Taste wise, there is lots of NEIPA but with a real difference. Yes it really is actually a bit like a choc milkshake! Lots of milk chocolate, cocoa and lactose, mixed in with some sweet and tart citrus, and a touch of roasted malt. The texture is a touch creamy and the carbonaton moderate. These flavours really shouldn't work together but somehow they do, and quite impressively. A highly original and delicious brew. Hope it becomes a regular.

Pours gold with large fading head.Nose shows lychee, passion fruit, nectarine, spicy and piny hops. Some biscuity malt underneath hinting at a bit of sweetness.Flavours include more passionfruit and nectarine along with some of the biscuity malt. Finishes a bit weakly though, but that just makes it even more refreshing,

Can. Just hazy gold with a modest white head. Aroma of grapefruit, citrus blossoms (lime, kumquat) , passionfruit, pine. Only nudging up on medium bodied. Whilst it's really pretty empty on the malt side of things, the bitterness is well enough judged that you get the fruity aromatics without any harshness. But the lack of presence and character tells.

Can. Reddish amber with a light beige head that fades a bit. Aroma of toffee, earth, dried and some stewed fruit, light spices. Medium bodied, carbonation is just on the low side of moderate. Less sweet and more nimble on the palate than suggested by the aroma, there's toffee and dried fruit but the spicy hops play much more of a role. The finish is moderately bitter with some citrus and spices.
