Description
Inspired by norse mythology, 3 ravens tells the story of an unlikely trio: hugin, munin & jack. Hugin and munin were ravens loyal to the god odin who were sent on a quest to find the secret to human happiness. Jack, the third raven was sent by loki to rattle ’em with riddles. The three ravens forming to combine sight, knowledge and creativity to concoct a magic potion is much like our own story: a group of friends—banding together in their thornbury basement—to create unique australian beers.

(Can) Pours clear pale gold with tiny loose white head. Very subtle aroma with hints of bread and peppery spice. Light body with ok carbonation. Not a lot going on in the taste department - rather bland. There’s a little peppery bitterness in the finish. Some notes of citrus and hints of bready malt at the start. Refreshing but uninteresting.

(Can) Pours clear golden amber with short-lived loose white head. Nice aroma of pine with some fruit hints. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Taste is led by plenty of hops with some good, but not overwhelming, bitterness. There’s some stone fruit notes at the start and some notes of caramel malt in the middle. But it’s hops all the way. Very enjoyable.

(Can) Pours very hazy, even murky, amber brown with small loose off-white head. Good juicy aroma with citrus and pine. Medium to full body with modest, slightly fizzy carbonation. Good taste with plenty of hops - citrus at the start, bitter in the finish. Pretty good for a mid strength.

(Can) Pours very dark brown with small loose tan head. Lovely complex rich aroma with toffee, chocolate, oak, bourbon, vanilla, coffee - a joy just to sniff. Full bodied, smooth, slightly sticky with fine carbonation. Taste is awesome too, rich and complex and nicely balanced. There’s a sweet toffee backbone. There’s some black coffee bitter notes, some oak and bourbon. There’s a bite of alcohol in the finish and a little bitterness. I get notes of milk chocolate, vanilla and cardamom too. Dangerously drinkable.

(Can) Pours clear golden with tiny head. Pleasant aroma of tropical fruit with hints of pine and toffee. Medium body, bright almost fizzy carbonation. Pleasant gently tart fruity start, but taste rather fades out from there. There’s some hints of bready malt and of bitterness in the finish. Easy drinking but not very interesting.

(Can) Pours hazy golden with modest white head. Great aroma with pine and tropical fruit. Medium body with good carbonation. Taste is hop driven from dank notes at the start through to a good bitter finish. There’s some pleasant fruity notes at the start. There’s no apparent sweetness or maltiness. Great hoppy IPA without being over the top.

(Can) Pours clear golden with decent short-lived loose white head. Pleasant intense aroma of passionfruit soda. Light body with moderate but bright carbonation. Plenty of passionfruit in the flavour, with hints of bready malt and hoppy bitterness appearing towards the finish. Nicely tart with no sweetness. Very refreshing.
