On tap. Pours a clear yellow gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has straw and grains with a bit of grass and hay underlying. Flavor has grains and grass with sweet straw and a bit of hay supporting.

Deep brown coloured body with a thinnish, single centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of very strong and quite pungent squash, allspice, nutmeg, canella, cloves and a big dose of brown sugars near the end, but the pungency from the squash is front and centre. Medium-bodied; Quite strong chocolate and deeply roasted or toasted malt flavours with some earth, sugars, body and a ton of spices noticeable, but the allspice and nutmeg are the strongest, but there is quite a bit of cloves, star anise and a dash of fennel noticeable as well. Aftertaste is robust, bitter and quite strong, but still remarkably well-poised and showing a good balance of malt to sugars to bitterness with a smooth yet strong finish. Overall, a well structured beer with a lot of chocolate notes and a good squash body, but the spices and sugar content here is great with proper balances throughout and a well spiced beer makes this enjoyable almost anytime of year! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on 24-February-2018 for US$1,95 sampled at home in Washington on 01-April-2018 on Easter Sunday!

Draft at brewery. Vanilla like moderate esters Belgian yeast aroma. Flavor has similar esters and straightforward American take on the style. At least this one isn't husky like most of the lineup today at the brewery. I give more leeway for Belgian styles.

Draft at brewery. It's a gimmick beer with none of he gimmick elements strongly present. So, fail on that. Mostly raw husks and underfermented malts. At end of flavor something resembling a seed of some sort.
