330ml Bottle - Very dark, almost black with a tan head. Malty, fruity and slightly metallic aroma. Sweet and malty taste with some raisins detected. Certainly doesn’t taste its strength. Some caramel and roasted malt notes can be detected too. Could be worse.

Pours deep dark garnet with one minute of mocha head. I can already smell a little sweet malt and caramel before attempting to get my nose near the glass. Yep, the aroma is sweet malts, sweet caramel and dark fruity esters to go along with lighter notes of moderately roasted malts, fainter still a note of earthiness that moves toward a touch of tobacco. The taste starts the same as the aroma with a bolt of sweetness buoyed up by above average carbonation and carrying along notes of dark grapes, figs, sugar sweet malts and caramel. The sweetness doesn’t let up as the dark fruity esters grow in depth and character and the brief roasted malts, caramel and earthiness rise up and then fall away. Tasty brew leaving lingering dark fruitiness, caramel and just a hint of earthiness deep into the after taste.

Bottle. Nice mahogony color with a good beige head. Low sweet caramel aroma. Very sweet caramel/toffee flavor that lingers. It’s sweet and won’t be for everyone, but if you’re in the mood and know what you’re getting into, it’s not bad.

Roasted malt, soy sauce, and plum aroma, weak to medium strength. Black color, dark ruby when held to the light. Thin, quickly dissipating, off white head. Pronounced prune flavor with subtle hop notes, poor balance. As the glass warms, ham and brown sugar are noticed. The prunes fade, hops grow, and grain appears in the finish. Not particularly a good tasting beer

Aroma of chocolate and lightly toasted malt. Nearly opaque brown color with brownish high lights. Light tan head, started vigorous and didn’t entirely disappaear. Starts with sharp carbonation, chocolate, and then lightly sweet toasted malt. The sweet is not sirupy, but it is the lasting finish. There does seem to be some bitterness after the lasting sweetness finally departs. Not a hoppy lager.
