Bottle that I picked up from Sainsburys, Kidlington, consumed 25-08-09 Pours black with light beige head. A roasty beer with a touch of floralness amongst the smokiness that is also noted. Taste is tangy edging towards a little sourness, its a bit thin, roasty , fruity but seemingly not as good as it is in cask looking at the ratings of others. A6 A4 F5 P3 Ov11 2.9

Cask at the Live & Let Live, Cambridge, England on 15th August 2009. This review refers to the 4.4% version of this ale, known as "Pretoria". Gold with lasting off-white foamy head. A little initial yeastiness (earth) followed by a refreshingly crisp hoppiness making the beer more-ish. A dry bitter finish on a slightly textured mouthfeel afforded by good condition. A delicious session ale.

RBESG Sheffield 2009, day 3, Kings Arms, Manchester. Deep golden colour, white head. Aroma of fruits and caramel. Flavour is fruity, caramel, light bitter finish. A bit thin.
