on tap at Hardrock 42 in Sudbury.
hazy golden pour, big rocky white head. huge aroma of grapefruit and every citrus fruit you can imagine. solid mouthfel, and good carb. the finish is just more hops. the bitterness is not over the top like i thought it owuld be. quite drinkable, and not palate thrashing, great stuff.

Light aroma of wheats, some yeasr, and a bright but subtle peach. Flavor has the slightest touch of fruity sour funk, and a nice tangy peach finish. The wheat and the peach do well together. Quite refreshing.

Nice amber pour, big fluffy white head. Great aroma of piney hops, touches of citrus, and some light malted wheat. Good carb, mouthfeel is great. Lovely orange zest flavor, and the hop oils seem to cover my tongue in citrus. Not at all what i was expecting.

On tap at volo.
The aroma coming off this cask was incredible.
Amazing juicy citrucy aromas. Every citrus fruit imaginable is in here somehwere. Good solid malting keeping the mouthfeel and bitterness in check and light enough to make this a solid drinking beer. Refreshing, and exploding with flavor. A really great beer.

650ml from the lcbo. Amber pour with a fluffy white head. I’m seeing alot of people talking about a buttery diacetyl aroma and flavor but I’m not getting any. I guess I got lucky. A great citrus aroma with some juicy hops and a slight caramel maltiness. Quite bitter in the finish but the hops are really nice with some great citrus notes. I’m really quite impressed.

Volo Cask Days 2009. Great sweet malty aroma, with some brwn sugar, and caramel. Flavor is more of the same. Super solid, and super flavorful. Perfect example of the style.

cask days 2011.
light funk, quite a bit of tart fruit, light lactic notes.
quite flat, not much natural carb for a cask. medium funk and tartness on the finish with lingering fruit. nice effort, but a little rough.

BOOOOOORRRRRRRRING!
surprise surprise, another lager in the Ontario Beer scene. WHOA, i’m shocked. You know its hard to believe the brewery that came out with a WICKED winter ale, and the awesome devils pale ale, keeps making a bland boring, not even good lager like this,

bottle.
Well, looks great! bright yellow pour with a white head. Now this is where things go off the rails. Where is the green tea, and ginseng? There is a slight sweetness int he aroma that i would atribute to the malt, but nothing else, and some stale hops. The flavor is boring, and bland. There is really nothing there. There is MAYBE a touch of tea in the finish, with an odd sweet/sour bite that my throat can’t shake. PASS!

Aromas of pumpkin spices, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and a touch of malt. Flavor is much of the same, putting this side by side with the st ambroise i’m finding them very very similar, but this one seems a tad more full bodied, and have a little less of a thin flavor profile.

Well this isnt anything special, Mind you, how special can a dark lager be? Even though its dark, people. its still a lager!!! Boring. The only thing this beer has going for it is on top of all the boring grainy, bready, crappy macro tasting lagerness, there is a SLIGHT caramel notes to it. Other than that, pass on this one.
