This porter poured a deep black colour with a creamy, brown head. Nice lacing. Scents include caramel, coconut, coffee, burnt toast and a little dark chocolate. First swig was smooth, creamy and roasted with flavours of hazelnut, cocoa, coconut, coffee and deeply toasted bread. Delicious. Finish is nice and roasted, slightly sweet with perfect carbonation.

A hazed yellow ipa with a thin white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with dank resinous floral hops, grapefruit, tropical fruit, very nice. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, grapefruit pulp, light tropical fruits, pleasant and smooth. On tap at Lupulus.

473ml can. Pours a hazy gold-yellow with a medium, foamy, long lasting, white head that leaves soapy lacing. Sweet fruity aroma of bready pale malt, peach, mango, grapefruit, orange, earthy yeast and piney hops. Sweet fruity flavour of bready pale malt, papaya, mango, pineapple, peach, orange, guava, grapefruit and earthy yeast in a dry, mild bitter, light piney hop finish. Light to medium body with a sticky texture and soft carbonation. Flavourful and crushable.

473ml can. Pours an opaque black with a medium, creamy, short lived, brown head that laces. Semi-sweet aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee and earth. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, caramel, dark chocolate, earth and a hint of smoke in a dry, bitter coffee finish. Medium body with a smooth, oily texture and average carbonation. Very flavourful for a session stout.

Bottle: Poured a clear golden color ale with a large white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of nice rustic malt notes with some dry cereal ester and light oak presence is really refreshing. Taste is also a great mix of nice rustic malt notes with some light oak presence and a sharp dry aftertaste with light peppery yeast notes. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Solid barrel-aged saison with good mix of drinkability and complexity.

Can from Cask & Barrel. Dark brown. Not much head on this pour. Dark chocolate and light coffee on the nose. On the palate it's got a good body, lots more of that chocolate and coffee. The 8 IBU number comes from the brewery's website, but this tastes like it has a fair bit of bitterness. Surely that doesn't all come from roast malt - that number seems way off because this beer is well-balanced. Yeah, I'm enjoying this one. Really tasty, complex everyday stout.

Can donated by netty, many thanks. Hazy yellow orange color with thick white head. Clear hoppy aroma with resin, zest, citruses. Taste, solid malty base followed by mild citrus hoppy bitterness with zest, resin. Short light hoppy finis. Good, could be more intense tough.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver, 08/26/20, 3 monts old
Cloudy to murky yellow colour, medium sized head. The aroma is fruity, sweet citrus, oranges, very light tropical fruit. The mouthfeel is off-dry, lean; the hop is mildly juicy, a bit of resins, citrus oil, but overall not very bright; some pithy bitterness in the finish. I don't know if it's the age, it's still a good beer, but great beers still taste better after 3 months.

Bottle from the LCBO. Clear dark copper with a small steady cream coloured head that leaves stringy lace. Nose is dark fruit, wood , bourbon, light banana, brown sugar and some evident alcohol. Light+ plum and molasses sweetness with a dark fruit tartness. Mouth is medium with soft carbonation and a warming finish. Good winter sipper. 9/4/8+/3+/16
