Description
Founded 1997 by Claude Berri, Gérard Depardieu, Renaud, and Miou-Miou after making the film Germinal in Valenciennes. The brewery was called Brasserie des Amis Réunis, and located in a former slaughterhouse. It became the Brasserie de Saint-Amand-les-Eaux in 2002. In 2005, after a closure due to liquidation, the brewery was taken over by Jean-luc Robert Butez (owner of International Breweries and Beers), and opened again under the name of Brasserie des Sources.

(6/29/08) Bottle sample at RBESG08 grand tasting in Plzen. Hazy golden with a white head. Aroma is fruity with some citrus notes, light yeastiness and faint hoppiness. Sweetish flavor with some malt, nice fruitiness, caramel and a dry finish with faint citrus hints. Medium-bodied.

Hazy orange color, small off-white head. Strange woody-herbal, cardboardish aroma. Fruity, cardboardish flavor. There is some mango, peach and other fruits. Also in the finish.

Bottled. Hazy amber colour with big beige creamy head. Aroma is fruity, hoppy, earthy, malty and yeasty. Flavour is the same along with quite strong grainyness. Yet all in a nice balance, making it a drinkable brew.

RBESG08 Grand Tasting Hazy orange/amber colour, huge white head. Dusty fruity hoppy nose. Nice sweet spicy grainy, lemony taste. Thought it was a lovely fruity tripel....ookaaay.

Bottled at RBESG. Hazy amber, lively head. Fruity appley nose. Sweet and juicy with light body. Some prunes and minerals. Finishes lightly soapy and resiny with medium bitterness. Rather simple beer.

RBESG2008: 75 bottle. Pours hazy orange with a huge white head. Light fruity and acidic aroma. Flavour is sweet fruity, yeasty and slight metallic. Ends dry and yeasty. Smooth and nice yet simple.

Bottled. A golden beer with sediment floating around under a huge orangey head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel, dust, and fruit. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of over ripe fruits, citrus, and grapefruits, as well as a lighter touch of spices, leading to a dry bitter finish.

75 cL bottle, comes as de noel ambree. Pours clear orange with a collapsing off-white head. Spiced aroma and with a light acidic to citric touch. Flavour is spiced and mild malty. Medium sweet. Light fruity cardemomme finish.
