75cl bottle from Auchan, Calais. I may feel that I am being to harsh on this, but for me it misses the mark. Hazy gold colour with lasting white head. Meaty yeasty aroma. Yeasty in mouth. Some citrus, some hop. Just a bit muddled. Should be sharper. Just a bit under developed maybe.

75cl bottle from Auchan, Calais. Gold with thick white head. Hoppy aroma, some yeast. Good Biere de Garde aroma. Very good in mouth, sharp and alive. Citric and rather lovely. Creamy. I like it. Fresh tasting, refreshing on palate and interesting. I love this style of beer.

(Bottle 75 cl) Pale golden, slightly hazy beer with a tall, pretty and very white head. Dry, malty, spicy and not very bitter with this traditional artisanal, musty touch - typical bière de Garde. 260603

(Bottle 75 cl) Rather pale golden, slightly hazy. A very high carbonation gives a tall head which doesn’t stay up for long though. Apparently based on juniper although they really don’t add much flavour. (Bottle 75 cl) French wheat beers are a close relative to their Belgian brothers - and then again quite different. Spiced yes, but not in the typical Belgian way with coriander and orange peel. I believe this has more of a gingery touch. Very dry, almost without any body or any sweetness - or bitterness for that matter. Pale and slightly hazy with a frothy head. OK and quenching but rather bland and uninteresting for it’s type. 270103

Cloudy golden color, nice perlage; thin creamy head. Dry and spicy aroma, old hops. Malty taste with some residual sweetness; bitterness above the average for a Belgian Ale. Yeasty fruitness. Very well brewed, very enjoyable.

(Bottle 75 cl) With the additional name "La Blonde". Golden, pretty much filtered, high carbonation. Rather dry with some bitterness and hence a somewhat atypical "Blonde". Very limited residual sweetness. 251204

(Bottle 75 cl) Dark amber coloured-beer with the sediment making it grey in the end. Brownish and beautifullu creamy head. Appears sweetish to begin with but it’s an odd, faint vanishing sweetness. Some hard to define spiciness which is quite perfumy and bubble gum-like. Not really well done. 170104

(Bottle 33 cl) Beautiful - and not surprisingly - amber-coloured with a creamy, beige head. Sweetish, aromatic beer with a good body and ditto bitterness. Very delicious. The back-label names this to be a "Lager" which of course it isn’t. 010104
