Description
United Dutch Breweries in Breda was created when the Belgian Interbrew closed the Breda Oranjeboom brewery in 2004, which it had taken over in 1995. Oranjeboom's export department carried out a management buy-out and continued independently with Oranjeboom's brand portfolio, which was acquired from Interbrew. The beers are not brewed anymore in Breda but elsewhere.

[33cl can from B&M, Festival Park, Hanley.] A straw coloured pour with slight haze and a tight white head; floral aroma; sweet grainy body; and a light grassy bitterness. An unexciting but satisfactory craft lager; crisp, fresh and drinkable.

[50cl can from B&M, Festival Park, Hanley.] A rich peaty brown coloured pour with a thick cream head and a tawny glint in the light; aroma of yeast, red fruit and coffee; chocolatey taste to start, then some coffee, then brown sugar and malts; then a touch of spice and yeast to finish. A pleasant Double.
