Description
United Dutch Breweries in Breda was created when the Belgian Interbrew closed the Breda Oranjeboom brewery in 2004, which it had taken over in 1995. Oranjeboom's export department carried out a management buy-out and continued independently with Oranjeboom's brand portfolio, which was acquired from Interbrew. The beers are not brewed anymore in Breda but elsewhere.

[33cl can from B&M, Festival Park, Hanley.] A slightly hazy pale straw colour with a fast fading white head leaving plenty of lacing on the glass; aroma has yeast and some tropical fruit; very sweet in the mouth with some butterscotch and tropical fruit; then a dry finish with some sweet biscuity malts and lingering fruit. Not too bad.

5% alk.

500ml can: BB 5th January 2023. Drank at home on 3rd December 2021. Dark brown body, full on lightly tanned head. Malty, peaty and slightly smoky aroma and taste. Not quite like a Bamberg Rauch Bier, but it is leaning that way; an interesting beer and a whole lot better than it's stable mate, the Monastère Bière Blonde.

500ml can (6.5% ABV): BB 15th January 2023. Drank at home on 3rd December 2021. Clean and clear golden/blonde body, lager like weak white head. Grainy/malty nose and initial taste, on the sweet side for a Blonde. Metallic twang arrives as it warms in the glass, getting more prominent as the warmth increased. Enjoyed the first few sips, should have drank it quicker maybe!
