Description
Goldwater Brewing Co. began with a family tradition of brewing, rooted in Chad and Dillon McClelland’s childhood experiences with their father, Greg, an avid home brewer since 1986. What started as a hobby in their garage evolved into a shared passion, leading to the establishment of a 10bbl brewery with three locations.

The turning point came when Chad, inspired by his travels through craft beer scenes worldwide, decided to turn their family passion into a professional endeavor. With full support from Greg, Dillon, and their brother-in-law, Jimmy, the family set out to build their dream. After months of planning, experimenting, and overcoming challenges, Goldwater Brewing Co. officially opened its doors on May 1, 2015.

Their success stems from the combined strengths of each member: Greg’s business acumen, Chad’s brewing expertise, Dillon’s creative vision, and Jimmy’s operational skills. Together, they’ve built a brand known for quality, innovation, and community. As they continue to grow and introduce new, exciting beers, the family remains committed to their roots and the people who have supported them from the start.

Cheers to the future of fresh, local craft beer!

Cool 25oz squat crowler pours with a clear amber body that has golden hued edges and supports a dirty white head of foam. The modest aroma offers up booze, cherry like esters, a dash of molasses, malts and crystal malts. The taste delivers smooth sweet malts and sweet crystal malts as well as a thin molasses sensation. To midway booze is met by some sweet cherry like esters. The esters are mild and don’t add much or take away from the experience. Behind the sweetness are struggling notes of pine, floral and spicy bitter hoppiness. Pretty decent barleywine sipper.

On tap at Goldwater, pours a clear golden blonde with a medium white head. Aroma brings out the sage upfront, followed by saison yeast and some floral fruity esters. Flavour is quite bright, with nice expression of the sage and peppercorns upfront, followed by saison yeast and a touch of citrus. Not an authentic saison by any means, but it isn't trying to be what with the adjuncts. Nice stuff.

On nitro tap at Goldwater, pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma brings out hearty oats, dry cocoa and light coffee. Flavour is hearty as well, with equal parts dry cocoa, roast and coffee. Not that robust or elegant, but it's smooth and drinkable, not least of which because of the nitro. Solid impie.
