Description
Saint Andrews. For most that visit our small town by the sea, the name alone evokes a memory – maybe a slow stroll along the wharf, a low-tide search for sea glass, a day on the bay above the humpbacks, a winding garden meander, the catch of the day, the sun quietly setting; the world around it near-halted. We, too, fell in love with Saint Andrews; it, with its timeless charm – its storied history – its artists’ paradise – its sauntering, secret magic. For years we’ve dreamt of becoming part of that Saint Andrews legend – and now it's time that we do.

Our business aims to be like the ubiquitous periwinkle that inspired our logo – small and adaptable, taking the time to get things right, heartily committed to our locale. Supporting local suppliers and businesses, operating sustainably and crafting a product and an experience we passionately believe in are values we refuse to compromise on.

Cask pour at Stillwell Freehouse. Pours black with a beige head. Earthy roasted malts and dark chocolate on the nose. Flavour has toasted brown bread, oatmeal, dry brown sugars, some cacao. The finish is quite dry. Nice full body. Very nice oatmeal stout.

5oz pour at Stillwell. Pours murky, diry blonde with a white head. Not much on the nose. Flavour has citrus skins and pale malts. Not particularly good.

Tap at the Red Herring right across from the brewery. Pours hazey dried-wheat yellow, with persistent cream white head. Getting resin hops, tropical fruit and pepper in the nose. Taste is resin, a little pine, some peppery notes over a light hay malt. A lot going on here, but quite good.

On tap at the Red Herring right across from the brewery. Pour fairly clear blond with sheet of white with lacing. Taste sweet hay malt, with esters and a touch of tropical fruit. A little thin. Lingering bitterness, and some off flavours in the finish.
