Description
The brewery was founded in 1827 under the name Stralsundische Vereinsbrauerei. In 1899 a new multi-storey brewery building was erected at the current site of the brewery. After the reunification in 1991 the brewery was bought by the Nordmann Unternehmensgruppe. In 2010, we began forging a new path. Today we do what we do best: We brew a great variety of top-quality beers, drawing on Hanseatic brewing traditions. To reflect this change, the brewery was renamed Störtebeker Braumanufaktur ('craft brewery') in 2011.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a hazy golden with a lacing, white head. Faint tropical fruit aroma, hard to pinpoint as mango though. Could as well be oranges. Light body, light sweetness but also a chemical, bitter astringency. Not really a fan. 270126

Donkerbruin bier met schuim wat snel wegzakt. Smaak is licht bitter en zoet met wat chocolade, karamel en wat koffie. Heel fijn bier met een licht romig mondgevoel.

Perfect one yesterday, on the balcony, a bit fresh and a right option after our home made pizza. For me, it was a classical and well brewed German lager, really malty, bready, smooth, note of toffee, fruity, German hop, bitter, 31.05.23

500ml bottle at De Paas, Den Haag. Poured a hazy golden orange colour with an everlasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy, orange tangerine. The flavour is moderate sweet and bitter, with a smooth, fresh, somewhat rich, juicy orange citrus, chewy, light hop bitter palate. Over medium bodied with average to soft carbonation. Ok, but a little too sweet to be sessionable.
