Checkstone Brewery is a one-barrel plant inside the First & Last pub, Exmouth, established in 2016. It is named after the Checkstone reef outside the Exe Estuary. Like the brewery, the beers are named after various sea features around Exmouth.

Half pint from the cask at the First & Last Brewpub. Pours a hazy bright orange with a white head. Moderate body. Aromas & tastes of tropical fruits & hops. Slightly dry moderate bitter finish. Very enjoyable.

Cask at Exeter Festival of Beer 2024. Pours clear mahogany brown with a bubbles of beige foam. Aroma: Rich, malty, caramel, toffee, dried fruits. Taste: moderate sweet & bitter, follows the aroma: Medium+ body with low carbonation. Decent old ale / barley wine type winter warmer
