Taster at the brewery - hazy dark amber - rich but moderately dry and crackery maltiness, ginger, nutmeg, vanilla, cherry - finishes lightly spicy, with some cinnamon - not bad

Taster at the brewery - clear gold, lively pour - medium dry and lightly tart - flavors of tart apple, white grape, pepper - gains some light sweetness through the middle, adding some pear late - finishes dry and lightly tart - the tartness itself seems intentional, but somehow artificial, like an adjunct was added post-fermentation to add some acidity - otherwise okay.

Taster at the brewery - the base beer of this is a pretty fine Quad - I'm not sure the blackberry does much- at the very least, it's understated, mostly coming in the finish, and is complimented decently by the finishing phenolics - alright.

Taster at the brewery - dark purplish red - decently smooth, dense sweetness, with a cutting acidity and spice through the middle - not terribly complex, but it does finish with some dark fruit and light earthiness - okay.

Taster at the brewery - hazy orange - this was apparently cellared for over a year before tapping - there's a really nice earthy, mildly funky/phenolic depth - dry for the strength, with pepper, cobweb - some ginger and tropical fruit - the alcohol is noticeable on the tail end, but otherwise fairly nice.

Taster at the brewery - hazy gold - highly effervescent - flavor is light, bright, citric - there is a tartness to it that is clearly intentional, but tastes artificial and, in my view, does not really better the beer - it clashes with the underlying sweetness - finishes with some spice and bitterness - eh.

Taster at the brewery - hazy ruby beer - sticky lace - a lot of dark fruit, mostly raisin and date - slight dusty yeast and a finishing spiciness - caramelized sugars linger, as does some spiciness - good.

Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 5.5

Taster at the brewery - lightly hazy Amber - sugary sweet, with flavors of honey, caramelized cane sugar - not a ton of depth underneath that sweetness - some spice, some alcohol warmth, light raisin, some dark bread - light bitterness and pepper try to balance the stickiness - eh.

Apparently made with eight malts and three "festive spices" - certainly malt-forward/heavy - rich caramel flavor, a Munich malt richness - malt profile akin to an Oktoberfest - raisin, candies orange - Belgian yeast character is muddled here, just adding some pepper to the end - it's okay.
