Dutch mead. Lots of honey. A bit funky, earthy. Not a cookie cutter mead like a lot of the crap I've had recently.

Traditional meads are tricky, cause there's no way to hide things. This is pretty sweet, with some residual honey remaining that didn't get fermented. Little bit thin, but very soft. Floral. Nice, but maybe wrong place/time.

Slightly opaque, very pale yellow. Smells sweet, some honey, soft, very light hint of oak. Body is light, a bit thin but pretty boozy. Taste is very nice, subtle clean mead with a nice amount of oaky tannins. Light yet intense, nicely balanced. --- Beer merged from original tick of Naturel Mede 2020 on 13 Aug 2021 at 22:00 - Score: 7. 0.375 l bottle from 'Het Biermoment', cellared for over a year. Slightly hazy, deep ruby with a few white bubbles on top of it. Intensely sweetish, quite vinous and gently fruity aroma of honey, red wine, cherry, some marzipan, vanilla and a touch of redcurrant. Quite sweet, rather vinous, gently fruity taste of honey, red wine, vanilla, redcurrant and hints of marzipan, followed by a medium long, minimally tart, quite vinous and slightly woody finish. Medium body, minimally astringent and slightly oily mouthfeel, almost flat. Fairly complex, really well-balanced mead, quite sweet but nicely vinous and woody. Good!
