Description
It all started in a shed, no joke! Ian, started home brewing in his garden shed, building recipes inspired by his loved beers. We loved it, our mates loved it, the shed was bursting at the seams, it was time to move to bigger premises. In 2013 Brick was born, and we started building a brewery in a railway arch behind Peckham Rye station, SE London.

Can at home in London - picked up at Hop Burns & Black. Pours hazy yellow-gold with a thin, foamy, white head. The aroma has nice tangy lemon, fresh rhubarb, a little sweat. Light sweet flavour wth assertive acidity, lemony tartness, quite mild balancing wheat. Light bodied with spritzy carbonation. Super clean on the finish, with further tart lemon juice, overall sturdy acidity, some salt, pithy grapefruit. Overall, this is great stuff. And given the paltry ABV, itโ€™s absolutely smashable. The only downside is that as the beer warms it gets a little cheesy. Still, perhaps the best beer Iโ€™ve had from Brick.

Keg at the brewery taproom. Pours clear, light brown with a staunch, frothy light khaki head. The nose holds earthy hops, leaves, faint cocoa. Lightly sweet flavour with nips of metal, brown bread, toasted leaves, dried berries. Light bodied with lively, massaging carbonation. Finishes with more leafy hops, watery malts, toasted grains, light tangy and leathery berries, some earthy bitterness. Not the best.

The taste is crisp, dry, bitter, earthy, toasty, wood, leather, dried fruits, brown bread and tannin with a drying finish. Medium body fine carbonation. Pretty ok, a bit drying perhaps.

Tap at Craft Room. Hazy golden body. Lasting big thick white head. Slightly flowery, honeyish aroma. Clean lager, clean maltiness slightly papery (not oxidated), light classic hoppiness. Not that Czech looking at the malt profile. Okay lager. Nothing more nothing less.

Can from Ldn Beer Lab. It pours cloudy straw yellow with a small white head. The aroma is fresh, sweet - sour, tangy rhubarb, strawberry, earthy funk, straw and hay. The taste is crisp, tart, good mouth - pucker, bright acidity, rhubarb, strawberry, sherbet, lime, natural yoghurt and minerals with a drying finish. Light body and fine, prickly carbonation. Plenty of flavour at this sort of abv. Rather well done.
