Cask gravity at Croydon Craft beer fest. It pours darkest brown with a small beige head. The nose is rich, liquorice, coffee grounds, decent roast and coffee cake. The taste is smooth, rich roast, good deal of coffee, mild sweetness, toasty stuff, lightly charred wood, umami and a touch of chewy with a dry, toasty finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Rather flavousome. Good one.

Gravity cask at Nottingham festival with fonefan, Charlotte, Boudicca & chriso. Cloudy brown color. Nice pine aroma. Bitter cocoa and coffee taste. Getting closer to a black IPA with this one.

330ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, orangey golden colour with average, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Piney and citrusy, hoppy aroma, notes of grapefruit and lemon, a touch of pineapple. Taste is bitter and citrusy hoppy, slightly mineral and chalky, lemon notes, some grapefruit; moderately bitter, chalky finish. Session IPA with no more sessionable abv.

330ml bottle. Clear, orangey, slightly faint golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Pale malty aroma with some malt spiciness, minimally citrusy hoppy overtones with a touch of lemon, grass and tea. Taste is grassy hoppy, hints of tea, a touch of tobacco leaves, green apple, a minimally strawy touch. Not bad.

330ml bottle. Cloudy, yellow-ish golden colour with average, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Fruity, yeasty, minimally mouldy fruity aroma, notes of quince, peach and dried banana, a touch of clove. Taste is initially moderately sweet wheaty, fruity, peach quince and dried banana again, cautious hints of clove; later minimally earthy, grassy hoppy overtones come in, producing in combination apricot and some fleecy peach peel in taste and mouthfeel. Soft carbonation, slightly viscid texture. Not paradigmatically Bavarian, but close by and a very interesting interpretation if not enhancement.

Keg at the Bullfinch brewery taproom. Pours clear gold with a creamy white head. The nose has strong minerals, lemon rind, citrus pith. Very dry, with minimal sweetness, some bitter hay, more rind. Light in body with average carbonation. Clean and bone dry to finish, with flinty minerals, hay, lemon rind. So so. Not much to it.

Cask at the Wellington, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark reddish brown with a bubbly off white head. The aroma is roasted smoky malt, rich red berry fruit, light spicy hop. The flavour is moderate to light bitter, light sweet with grassy hop, smooth rich ripe fruit, light pepper spice palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. It’s one of those beers with the "wow" factor. It’s not what I was expecting at all. There’s plenty going on and it’s so god damn good!

Cask@Beer Rebellion (Gipsy Hill), London (04/06/2015) - golden pour with white head. Tropical and citrus fruity aroma and taste, pale malts, some light caramel, lemon, satsuma, grapefruit, refreshing, hoppy bitter finish. Great stuff.

Bottle@The Railway, Streatham, London (07/06/2015) - golden pour with a great white head. Grassy hoppy aroma and taste, some citrus lemon, straw, some floral hoppy nuances as well, crisp on the palate, refreshing easy drinking pils. Lovely.
