Tap pour at the Duke Of Wellington, Norwich. It certainly wasn't plain sailing for the Duke of Wellington in some battles. Very slightly hazed golden with a head and carbonation. Has a sessionable apricot-peachiness in both aroma and taste.

Cask at Ebenezers, Crewe. Pours a murky gold with minimal off-white head and good lacing. There are hints of peaches and floral hops in the aroma, but nothing more substantial. In the mouth it is sweet and creamy but with a little underlying bitterness. Flavour has floral hops and stone fruits with hints of tangerine and mango coming through later. Sweetness lasts into the finish. Not really my sort of beer but this is quite decent.

Draft at the Pup & Duckling 9th anniversary beer festival, Solihull. Poured a hazy yellow golden colour with a thin white head. The aroma is grainy, tropical lemon citrus. The flavour is moderate sweet and bitter, with a fresh, crisp, mineral, lemon citrus, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Keg draught at the Two-Tailed Lion, Leicester. Mid-brown, translucent and thin-looking. Very little head. Smell dominated by coconut with a little bit of chocolate and some yeast extract. Taste is sweet/sour with a hoppy bitterness that aggravates rather than redressing any balance issues and a souring finish. Lots of coconut water, not much of anything else. A little bit of a struggle for me.

Keg draught at the Two-Tailed Lion, Leicester. Dark dank golden with a small off-white head. Aroma of peach sorbet, light pineapple, tangerine peel. Big dank taste, bitter hops eclipsing everything else. Long bitter finish. Thick body with low carbonation. Quite something.

Handpull cask at the Two-Tailed Lion, Leicester. Very nearly black, slightly translucent with a small khaki head. Slightly burned espresso aroma. Taste is sweetish coffee with an intense hoppy bitter finish. Way too strong coffee in the aftertaste. This is a coffee stout from grownups. Starts better than it ends.

Keg draught at the Two-Tailed Lion, Leicester. Mid-gold and fairly hazy with a small white head. Pink grapefruit aroma, some lemon, wet grass and a little pineapple. Initial taste is sweet and surprisingly malt-led with a citrus hoppy bitter with notes of More grapefruit, freshly squeezed oranges and maybe a fleeting suggestion of mint. Hoppy bitterness in the slightly Sabroesque finish. Light body, carbonation on the active side. Pretty simple but does what it does well.
