Draft: Poured a dark orange to almost brown with a beige head. Aroma was big bold hops, grassy, citrus, malts. Hazy? Seems like an east west coast IPA to me. Taste was big bitter hops like chewing on hops cone, citrus.

Very crisp and ever so slightly hazy deep copper and bronze coloured body with a nice three centimetre tall tan head that's microfoamed up top and stays nicely above the 30 per cent opaque body for a long time! Aroma of crisp hop pellets, some grainy and biscuity malt notes, a dash of apples and sweetness, but a fairly dry scent throughout. Medium-bodied; Very crisp and grassy, herbal and perfumey flavours at first with a decidedly rustic and old-school (bitter) quality with some toffee and nuts coming through as well (Chinook) with the malt holding up nicely, but no sweetness or fruit flavours are here at all. Aftertaste is dry, quite bitter, a touch nutty, but showing a lot of different hop aspects, as long as they are drying - like - grassy, herbal, perfumey, resinous and pure: crisp. Overall, this is a pretty one-dimensional beer - and that's okay - it's quite bitter, dry and grassy with the Chinook showing by far the strongest here with an enjoyable old-school profile that's reminiscent of an East Coast IPA from the Mid 2000s. Still nice some 20 YEARS later - just don't keep THIS can that long! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Gull & Hammock Gifts in Cape Charles, Virginia [Eastern Shore] on 24-February-2023 for US$4,50 sampled at my house here in Washington on 23-April-2023.
