Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a deep brown color with a half finger’s worth of foamy white head. No lace.
The aroma had some pecan/walnuts, light smoke, light dark chocolate. mild woodiness and then some earthy/grassy hops.
The flavor had some semi-sweet to low bitter dark chocolate-like arrangement. Some light semi-tart fruit and a touch of some herbal quality slides in for a decent balance. Semi-roasty aftertaste. Not much of a finish.
The feel was about medium bodied with a decent sessionability about it. Subtle carbonation. ABV felt fine.
Overall, good for what it was, but the robust part, where was that? I missed the memo on this being robust.
