650ml bottle (thx, Peter K.!) shared with mom, hehe. Pours an almost black with a beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, some dark fruits. Taste is similar. Moderate sweetness. Good stuff.

Pours a dark brown colour with lots of ruby highlights. The head is mocha-coloured, very long lasting, frothy, fluffy and has thick wavy lacing. Chocolate-cocoa aromas over roasted malts, coffee notes and even hints of vanilla to soften things. The taste is more of the roasted malt giving burnt notes and lots of hops in the finish. Bitterness lingers. Some coffee comes out a little. Not full on the coffee, but feels more like a hoppy stout.

Keg at Brother’s Beer Bistro, Ottawa. Almost clear orange colour, minimal head. Citric nose with some cherry bubblegum. Mid sweet with medium body and clean mouthfeel. Cherry Vanilla Coke with Lemon Fanta. Fairly low bitterness. Comes across as artificial.

A pinkish rose ale with a very thin white head. In aroma, grainy biscuit malt with light fruity esters, light butterscotch, so-so. In mouth, a lightly tart cranberry juice with light lemon notes, light acidity, OK. On tap at Brother’s Beer Bistro.

Bottled, from LCBO, Ottawa. Dark brown, rich firm head. Caramel, cookies and pears up front. Mid sweet with solid body and well rounded mouthfeel. Citrus, pear and cookies, notes of licorice. Long bitter finish with lingering lime. Really solid brown ale, dense and packed with flavours, yet remaining edgeless.

Bottle - Dark roast and some sweet coffee like notes. Monkey flanges in the shower. jet black with a small white head. Dark bitter roast. Nice bitterness and hop notes but coffee is not really that forward.

From tap. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is peachy and slight grapefruity hoppy. Lingering hops fruity. Jam, fruity and slight sweet. Lingering fruity far finish.

Pours a dark brown colour, not black though, with ruby-copper highlights. Big creamy light-beige head, great retention and foamy-creamy lace. Beautiful sweeter aromas with the oatmeal, over the roasted malts and hints of chocolate. The taste has less sweetness, with the hop creating some nice bitterness in the finish. Toasted malts and caramel ones to give the brown ale side. A very nice brew and great idea to have the oatmeal with a brown ale, instead of the typical stout.
