Description
Welcome to West Avenue Cider. Where authenticity and tradition meet big city lights. Our cider has been awarded Best Cider in Ontario for several years running, and we hope you’ll have the chance to find out why. As small-batch producers of hard cider we care about the quality of the fruit that goes into our cider—and we always will. We only use the best ingredients, coupled with a slow fermentation process, so every batch of our cider is characteristic of the orchard’s terroir. Because heritage apples are rare in Canada, we planted thousands of trees in our Orchard to ensure that our Heritage Ciders remain authentic forever.

Poured from 750mL bottle. Clear gold with minimal white head. Apple skins with some sweetness from the grapes, okay. ABV dangerously hidden.

750mL bottle. Pours clear dirty blonde. Musty apple skins and fermented grapes on the nose. Flavour is nice and musty, nice apple skin character, funky, good grape skin character, gentle tartness. Off-dry. Really good cider.

Brassy amber colour. Has a nice cryo-extractionated icy apple aroma. On the palate, the creme-brulee pyro-torched apple skins blend well with tannins. Intense, deep acidity, complex apple. Very good stuff.

375mL bottle, pours a clear caramel. Nose is decadent, with rich toffee, brown sugar, and rich stewed apples. Flavour is rich, complex, and balanced, revealing tons of rich toffee, brown sugar, just enough tart, acidic apples, and some butterscotch to finish. Balanced, complex, exquisite. Lovely.

Pale yellow. Appley, with a touch of vanilla on the nose. This has a lot of vanilla on the palate, with a slightly bitter apple note, and a decent lactic acidity.

16 oz. can, pours a clear blonde, almost no head. Nose has plenty of juicy apple, crisp apple skins, and a touch of vanilla. Flavour is dominated by the vanilla beans, with medium-sweet apple juice and light skins. Sweeter than I want, but I do like the vanilla. Far from a sophisticated cider, but I guess it’s decent for what it is.

473mL can. Pours clear blonde. Apple cores and some skins on the nose. Flavour has apple juice, vanilla; on the sweet side. It's okay, but lacks complexity and the blending with apple juice does it no favours.
