Description
Welcome to West Avenue Cider. Where authenticity and tradition meet big city lights. Our cider has been awarded Best Cider in Ontario for several years running, and we hope you’ll have the chance to find out why. As small-batch producers of hard cider we care about the quality of the fruit that goes into our cider—and we always will. We only use the best ingredients, coupled with a slow fermentation process, so every batch of our cider is characteristic of the orchard’s terroir. Because heritage apples are rare in Canada, we planted thousands of trees in our Orchard to ensure that our Heritage Ciders remain authentic forever.

Cask days 2014.
Tart apples, toffee, wood, sweet canilla bourbon. The bouebon woodniess and the tart apples are quite the combo. Not sure this works....the bourbon isnt as sweet as i expected, but it still doesnt meld well with the tart apples. Its well made, but i dont get it,

Poured from the tap. Clear medium dark red with minimal white head. Nice vinous notes, a touch of berry, mild apple rounding everything out. Not bad.

Poured from 355mL can. Clear pale blonde with minimal white head. Dry apple skin, mild sweet pear, it doesn’t really pick a lane, blend could be better, okay.

On tap at Bar Hop Brewco, pours a hazy pinkish reddish amber with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of tart cherries, sweet pears, and some funky notes. Flavour is full of sweet cherries, pear skins, and some bugginess. Sweet and funky, quite pleasant, but far from West Avenue's best.

750mL bottle, pours a clear golden with a large, quickly-diminishing white head. Aroma is full of funk, champagne-like effervescence, and crisp apples. Flavour is bone dry, with lots of champagne-like effervescence, crisp apples, and gentle barnyard funk. Bone dry, nicely carbonated, and funky. Lovely.

On tap at The Greater Good, pours a clear pale copper with a tiny white head. Aroma brings out crisp apple skins, accentuated by cherry, and a hint of wild yeast. Flavour is gently sweet, with cherry drop notes, light apple skins, and a hint of wild character. Medium sweet, with reasonable wild yeast character. Good, but not complex or elegant.
