Draught. Very deep amber colour, small white head. ARoma is caramel malts, some bready notes, as well as saltwater. Flavour is raisins, sweet malts. Not very exciting, though it was the best of the ones at The Southerner in London for the moment of the Speights ones.

Half pint from tap served xtra cold at The Southerner , Temple, London. Dark brown red-tinged body with lacing on the glass. Light roasted malty to the nose. Notes of dark chocolate malts in flavour supported by a touch of sweet caramel. Too diluted palate for a porter. It’s a pity that the ice cold serving temperature took some of the flavour from all of the Speights beers at the bar (01.05.2008).
