Half pint served chilled from tap at the Southerner, Temple. Crystal clear, golden body with a short lived, white head. Grass-malty aroma. Malty sweetness in flavour and little else. Rather dry in the mouth. Some refreshments (London, 01.08.2009).

Bottle. A clear, golden beer with a minimal, off-white head. The aroma has fruityness and caramel, and it’s quite weak, but most of all it’s grainy. The flavor is more on the fruity side, with some sweetness and a hint of caramel. Medium body and a nice carbonation. There’s some sweetness in the finish, but it’s lacking on bitterness. Overall, it actually lacks on most things, especially bitterness, so it’s a rather boring beer. Quite quenching though. (090412)

Medium yellowish beige creamy shiny ever-lasting head. Lovely deep red body with light carbonation. Light roasty caramelly aroma. Dry-sweetish fruity licorice and port taste with earthy roasty caramel notes. Mild mouthfeel. Faintly artificial. Dry roasty papery aftertaste with watery raisin notes. quite short. Quite nice. Could use more hops. (0.2l sampler, The Southerner, London.)

Small white head. Lovely deep amber body. Fruity cedar wood aroma. Dry-sweet earthy prunes and wood taste with sherry notes. A bit sugary. Thinnish body. Mild mouthfeel. Aftertaste is the same, with some added caramel. Quite nice, but feels a bit artificial. (0.2l sampler, The Southerner, London.)

Smallish creamy offwhite head. Amber body with light carbonation. Faint, vague artificial fruit aroma. Dry-sweetish fruity wooden taste with mealy notes. Light body. Kind of artificial. Aftertaste is much the same. Not bad, but one-dimensional and boring. (0.2l sampler, The Southerner, London.)
