Tap at Chezzy Italian, Gangnam. Dark amber color, hazed, big soapy head. Fresh smell hoppy aroma lightly spiced. Thin malts profile with almond leftover. Bitter taste, light body, dry finish, quite alcoholic. First local craft beer i’ve found, was a good relief from industry standard.

Vom Faß im Akitu, Nampo-dong, Busan (als Akitu 민들레). - Gelbbraun, gut trüb. - In der Nase krautige Aromen (Kamille?), fruchtige Orangenschale, leichte Saison-Anklänge und ein deutlicher säuerlicher Stich. - Antrunk schlank mit säuerlicher Note, etwas Ingwer. Stark rezent, etwas dünn im Mund. Im Abgang nicht besonders aromatische Herbe mit holzig-pilzigen Noten. Bitterer, unharmonischer Nachtrunk. - Zu krautig-säuerlich, unrund und ohne gute Hopfenaromen - enttäuschend.

They were out of this at the taproom so they substituted the Smokey Lager. I was able to try it at Gwangan Taphouse but the keg was by all accounts off so they replaced it with something else (the great Galmegi Moonrise Pale Ale). Anyways here are my notes on the off beer, I’ll update it whenever I can try one in better form:
Served in a Weizen glass it pours a cloudy gold with a thick white head of foam that leaves behind lacing that costs the glass. Visually perfect. Fruity tangy aroma, more bubblegum than banana or cloves. So so aroma. Medium bodied and smooth. The taste is odd tart pears with a weird solvent like character. Prune like and sweet. Very odd for a Weizen. Not bad exactly but defintely on the strange side.

Finished window shopping with the missus so on to my reward - beer! Akitu Whiskey Ale 9% 20 IBU on tap at the Nampo Taproom. A lovely amber color with a 1cm dense head of foam. The aroma is bready malts, floral and mild fruity notes. Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. The taste is a really nice smokey oak, berries, then boozy whiskey notes. Well balanced and tasty. Too bad the Barrel Aged Camelia IPA was out as I’d have loved to try that as well.

On tap at the Nampo Taproom. Smokey Lager 5% 22 IBU Black with ruby highlights and a light beige head. The nose is mild smoked fish. Medium bodied and very dry. The taste is smokey, tangy honeyed ham and breadiness. Nice. 3.5

Romance session ipa 3.7% 40 IBU Lovely clear gold, soapy head of foam with a great prickly pear and vibrantly fruity hoppiness. Light bodied with a tangy fruit and bitter finish. Nice tangy fruit hop notes on a crisp light body. This one is a winner!

Part of a tasting set at the Nampo Taproom. Mindeuire belgian saison 5.5% 25 IBU Light gold funky sweet aroma, lively carbonation but very metallic flavor. Ugh, this is off - solvent like. Tone that down and it’d be decent.

On tap at the Nampo Taproom. Pitch black with a tan head and a big bready chocolate aroma. Medium-light bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. The taste is roasty, nutty chocolate - really good stuff.

On tap at the Nampo Taproom. Jagalchi Märzen 5% 20 IBU pours a brassy gold with a biscuity malt cracker aroma with a dash of gingerbread. The taste is solid malt forward sweet Märzen.

Oryukodo American pale ale 5% 28 IBU On tap at the Nampo Taproom. Nice gold with a thick foamy white head. It’s got s lovely tropical fruit bouquet & is medium bodied with s spritzy carbonation. The taste is sweet candied fruits, citrus zest and earthy pine.
