Not barrel aged? Real nice toffee mellow smoothness. Warms your chest even on this heatwave of a day.
Huge jalapeno nose and a lil kick on the finish too. Not afraid of the spice or jalapeno flavor and I love it.
Light salty mango and pineapple.
Nice sweetness and light I'm guessing lactose note with mild hints of roast and fun marshmallow hints. Not overwhelmingly sweet in a nice way.

I tried a 5 oz glass of Romanov's Revenge in a flight of four at the brewery recently. It shows completely black with a thin ring of tan foam circling the glass. I got a slight scent of ash along with chocolate. The taste was likewise ash, caramel, wheat bread, chocolate and black licorice. The sensation was a density thinner than I prefer. Okay, just okay for a preferred style. --- Beer merged from original tick of Maple Branch Romanov's Revenge on 28 Nov 2021 at 00:33 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 8.5. Maple Branch calls this beer an Imperial Kolsch because of the higher-than-usual abv of 7.9%, I assume. Sampled at the brewery on a cool winter evening with family around. The beer displayed a clear yellow with no head. The smell was of grain and a developing sweetness. I tasted honey, grain, water and hard candy. The mentioned abv was not discernible. Not your normal Kolsch, but I liked it. --- Beer merged from original tick of Maple Branch Into The Unknown on 28 Nov 2021 at 00:21 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6.5. This was one of the beers from a four serving flight obtained at the brewery. It shows as a thick, hazy orange liquid with a skim of totally white foam. The nose is resin and bread. My drink gives me oranges, white bread, hops and pine needles. An appreciated heft in sensation. I found this to be the best of the four I tried. --- Beer merged from original tick of Maple Branch Double Tap on 25 Nov 2021 at 16:47 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 8. A five oz serving from a flight at the brewery. Jet black in color with practically no head. The scent is plums and grain. A drink gives me tastes of fruit cake, licorice, cough syrup and field. This is a decent brew, not anything more or less. The brewery is certainly worth checking out. --- Beer merged from original tick of Maple Branch Levitator on 25 Nov 2021 at 16:33 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7.5.
