Bottle. Looks like a pale lager with a minimal head. Aromas are wild! Lots of things going on here: sweet fruit (guava), ginger, vanilla, etc. Flavor is a bit of a mess... it starts out with a beautiful light fruit presence before going off the rails with a medicinal ginger and grass flavor.

Can. Electric red pour with a very minimal head. Aromas are weak - of Ocean Spray and feet (according to my drinking buddy Pedro.) Flavor is kind of a weak mix of sour and cranberry that finishes with a super tart punch at the end. This one is a disappointment.

Wineglass showing turbid cherry red with sparse white foam.
The nose shows intense notes of cinnamon and cherry pie.
The palate is well carbonated and light bodied. Moderately tart with light Balaton forwardness and mild herbaceous note.

2023 batch, 25.4 oz. "Bottle 7 of 252." Mild tart beer nose. And that tart cherry I always seem to pick up with farmhouse sours. Hazy gold pour with a thick head that fizzes away almost immediately. Taste is tart all the way through. Catching a little bit of oak and some juniper. Another excellent beer from a trade.

2019 bottle. Cork pries out easily. Pours ruby and brown, with a thin ring of foam. Nice smell of sherry, dark stone fruit, and a bit of pipe tobacco. Taste starts off with a big tart cherry burst. Some red wine, honey sweetness, and sharp spice at the back of the throat. Plenty of sour all the way through.

Corked & caged bottle, luckily no gusher. Lightly hazed amber color. Thin ring of foam. Smell has some gin botanicals, and malt with some funk and bitterness. Taste has more botanical character. Mouthfeel is kind of thin, though, for something that's had time to repose in a barrel. Nice funk and dry white wine character comes in after the first few sips. Tartness builds, but does not overwhelm.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a slightly hazy yellow with a white head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has tart citrus and light peach with grass and a hint of lemon supporting. Flavor has tart citrus and a nice light peach with a light funk and lemon underlying.
