Description
Founded by brothers, Ken and Matt Praay, Monument City Brewing was born while on a transformative hike along the Appalachian Trail. The two brothers, already homebrewers, traded stories about their favorite craft beers and beers they had created. Upon their return, they set out to create a family owned brewery making world class craft beer for their community.
Today, Monument City Brewing produces some of the finest ales and lagers Maryland has to offer.

Dimpled mug at the brewery pours a clear gold with a cap of white head. Mild nose, grain and dough. Some honey. Flavor follows. Doughy and grainy but lacks some clarity. It's not bad, it's just not clear. Doesn't pop. Dry finish.

Aroma of wheat and coriander. Taste has lots of coriander, some citrus, tropical notes. Palate has more tropical fruit notes, hefeweizen-type malt and spice notes, some hop oils that linger on the nose. Pretty good.

Roasty and smoky. Dark chocolate, coffee. Great balance here, just the kind of bitter stout I love. A little booze, some notes of caramel. Black pour with mocha head. Creamy consistency. Bittersweet finish with some booze. Burnt toffee. Can.

Decent rye infusion. Clear maroon pour with fluffy but quickly dissipating head. A little lemon. Easy drinking and richer aroma and body than many lagers. Can.
