Murky jet black with a huge stable mocha colored head. Licorice, rubber, leather, grapefruit zest, dark chocolate, Burnt sugar, molasses. Dry zesty bitterness, chocolate sweetness. Medium bodied, slick oily texture, soft carbonated, dry zesty leathery chocolate bittersweet finish. A very good, hearty dry stout, excellent and another great beer from this unknown brewery.

Genossenschaftsbräu Regensburg trift Rotbier, Fläschchen (MHD: 01.09.23) aus der Bierothek Regensburg. - Stumpfes Rotbraun, trüb. - In der Nase störende säuerliche Züge über brotigem Malz von runder Karamelsüße, reife Aprikose, blasse hopfenwürzige Hopfung. - Antrunk sparsam karamelmalzig mit vager hopfenwürziger Herbe und noch erträglichen, dennoch unschönen und mit Sicherheit nicht beabsichtigten säuerlich-herben Zügen. Gut rezent, schlank. Im Abgang vage hopfenherb. - Ein gutes Rotbier lebt von seiner Malzigkeit, aber dieses ist korrumpiert durch außerplanmäßige Versäuerung deutlich vor dem MHD. Bedauerlich. 330ml bottle. Cloudy orange with a big fluffy foamy head. Stone fruit, hay, grain, very bready, sourdough, citrussy, grassy notes, floral notes. Mild dry bitterness, malty bready sweetness. Medium bodied, oily texture, lively carbonated, dry grassy bready finish. What a nice surprise!
