29/VI/19 - 33cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck (Vichte), shared @ Abeel's place, BB: IX//2021 - (2019-910)
Clear pale orange beer, quite some debris floating around in the glass under a small aery fizzy white head, unstable, dissipates quickly. Aroma: very rural, malty, raw grains, cow stable, some orange peel, bit of caramel, sugary impression. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: overripe banana, sweet and sugary, very malty, oxidized, some marzipan, orange peel. Aftertaste: sweet, lots of alcohol, sugary, very malty, metallic, overripe banana, more metallic, pretty boring.

330ml bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck. Pours a lightly misty gold, frothy rocky white head. Nice floral sweet nose. Taste presents a gentle sweet saison character, floral notes, moderately bitter, good carbonation, soft grain. A little drying and perhaps needs a little more yeast or general sweetness, but it's not bad overall

1/XI/18 - 33cl bottle from a trade, shared @ Bosrijk Efteling, BB: X/2019 - (2018-1628) Thanks to Jerre for the trade!
Clear blond beer, small creamy off-white head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: dirty, sulphur, cow manure, bit spicy, rotten banana, metallic. MF: very lively carbon, too much, medium to light body. Taste: bit sourish up front, very very metallic, unpleasant bitterness, some cookies, very oxidized. Aftertaste: very metallic, more metallic, sulphur, unpleasant, urine, floral touch. Wow, this is not good... There's more than one (probably brew technical) problem with this beer going one...

Quadrupel by this new microbrewery in Wevelgem, bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck. Quite a strong gusher. Opening, pale greyish beige, loosely moussy head lacing in dots over a misty chestnut brown beer with ruddy bronze hue and milky ‘clouds’ of yeast throughout – not a good sign visually. The aroma is however quite alright for the intended style: ripe blue plums and plum jam, caramel sauce, stewed pear, brown sugar, a truckload of coriander seed, soggy brown bread, dry earth, old brownies sprinkled with cocoa dust, red cabbage, cake dough, ginger powder, mud, cloves. Estery onset, lots of banana, blue plum and stewed pear or apple, sweet and brown sugary with a quite pronounced sourish undertone accentuated by overly fizzy carbonation. Fluffy, bready malt sweet middle, lingering brown sugariness, strong coriander soapiness and spicy phenols lead towards a very phenolic, sweet, very earthy and eventually rather ‘dirty’ yeasty finish with rum-like, warming alcohol and a herbal hop bitterish note. Your typical sweet and coriandered, thoroughly Belgian interpretation of a thoroughly Belgian style, well-intended but refermentation has gone a bit ‘wild’ here and we are technically far removed from the great standards in this style. Needs a lot more finetuning, but it’s not a bad start, all things considered.
