“RavenKraft Wanderer“, Flasche (33 cl) vom Getränkemarkt Koch, Fulda. - Tiefes Schwarzbraun, hellbrauner Schaum. - In der Nase zurückhaltender Mokka, etwas Trockenobst, wenig Hopfen. - Antrunk stark röstmalzig und kaffeebitter mit Mokka und Kakao. Mäßig süß, etwas unpassende Anklänge an Ananassaft. Die zarte, spritzige Note zitrusfruchtiger Herbe (Simcoe) ist für ein IPA entschieden zu schwach. Mild rezent, vollmundig, malzschwer. Im Abgang gut kaffeebitter aber zu lahm gehopft. - Nett und gut trinkbar, aber dem hohen Anspruch eines Black IPA wird es nicht gerecht. Und das esoterische Geschwafel auf dem Etikett ist auch überflüssig.

Hazy golden. Aroma is mandarin grapes cherry passion fruit pips bready malt physalis. Taste is sour fruit mealy stuff. And the average bittersweetness. A bit squeaky. Medium drinkable. Ok.

27-04-18 // tap at Naiv Frankfurt. Very dark brown. Small head. Sweet malty nose. Dry roasted malty body. Medium bitter more a bitter Schwarzbier than Black IPA.

From the (5 months expired!) bottle found at the back of the cellar. Pours very dark brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma is ash, pineapple juice. Taste is bittersweet with the forward emphasis on the roasted malts and the fruitiness coming to play on the backside, again primarily pineapple. Finishes dry with increasing bitterness. Has held up fairly well.
