Draft at HOMES. Pours a mostly clear orange with a small, quickly dissipating off-white head. Coffee, toffee & chocolate cream aromas on the nose. More coffee on the palate. A bit thin and watery texture-wise. Light grassy hops as it warms. Smooth but a touch hot on the finish. --- Beer merged from original tick of KING COLD BREW - KENYAN EMBU (2019) on 27 Sep 2019 at 22:36 - Score: 7. Draft at HOMES and can at home. Cans were better than draft imo. Pours a thick, hazy gold with a finger of creamy off-white foam that lingers. Soft, creamy tropical fruit nose with tons of mango, citrus and great yeast work. Juicy and smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Lychee, dank, pine notes all meld well on the palate. Lingering pine and tropical fruit. Killer.

6.8/10 Appearance 6 Aroma 7 Flavor 7 Texture 6 Overall 7
Draft at HOMES. Pours a clear orange copper color with a finger of soapy white foam that dissipates. Light lactose aroma with strawberry seed and orange notes. Thin with a light tartness. Wild strawberry flavors. Lingering, watery strawberry with orange. A step down from the previous sherbets. Carbonation was good, but missing the fruit. Strawberry is a watery fruit itself I suppose.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 7/25/2019. Pours opaquely hazy deep golden/orange/amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Dense foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, raspberry, gooseberry, currant, white grape/wine, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with big strength. Taste of huge tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, raspberry, gooseberry, currant, white grape/wine, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, raspberry, gooseberry, currant, white grape/wine, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, and fairly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 6.3%. Overall this is a fantastic NEIPA. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/resinous/drying finish; nicely soft and not overly aggressive. Fantastic Enigma, Cryo Mosaic profile. Extremely juicy, vibrant, dank, and earthy hops; with a great wheat/oat/malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and outstanding style example as expected.
