Hazy yellow colour, small white head. Aroma is floral, fruity, nectary and some slight coriander with mild herbs. Flavour is floral, fruity, some nectary and mild earthy tones with a bit wheaty tones to it.

44cl can from Sip, Tallinn. Hazy to muddy brown with a modest, off-white head. Mild fruity aroma with notes of Belgian yeast and just a hint of tamarind. Sweet and strange, and not sure that cherries and tamarind is the best mix, but interesting enough. Hmmm...

Gekocht op 9-08-2025 bij Biergigant Dendermonde. En thuis onderzocht met mijn immer enthousiaste smaakpapillen op 12-12-2025.
Jailhouse Brew wordt gebrouwen bij Brouwerij Slaapmutske uit Melle in samenwerking met de Estse VAAT-brouwerij. Slaapmutske brouwt sinds 2000 hun eigen bieren onder de merknaam Slaapmutske. Deze zijn zowel in het binnen- als buitenland te verkrijgen. Sinds 2025 zijn ze door een overname ook trotse eigenaar van het bier L'Arogante. Ze zetten op continue basis in op productontwikkeling en zijn steeds op zoek naar nieuwe ideeën of samenwerkingen!
JAILHOUSE BREW is een wat wazig zwart bier dat veel bruinig schuim aanmaakt wat een fijne gelijkmatige laag vormt die sterk aan je glas blijft kleven. Het blijft stabiel en wat later heb je nog steeds een fijn laagje van enkele mm’s op je bier staan. Het bier is te donker om enige pareling te kunnen waar nemen.
HET AROMA:
Beetje kers, zoetig, zoethout, chocolade, koffie, mout, zoete alcohol.
DE SMAAK:
Zoet, zoethout, wat kers, wat gebrand, koffie, mout, zoete alcohol.
HET MONDGEVOEL:
Volle body en een romige textuur, normaal prikkelend koolzuurgas.
DE NASMAAK:
Zoet, wat kers, licht gebrand, koffie, een noten tint, zoete alcohol. De koffie, het zoete en de alcohol vloeien lang uit.
HET TOTAALGEVOEL:
Een complex bier.
HET VERDICT:
Lekker biertje, geen al te sterke tinten, lijkt wel barrel aging ondergaan te hebben. Zoetig en wat alcoholisch, perfect voor mij. Goede Belgische stout.

440ml can shared with Finn at Drink Bar & Grill. A remaining white head over a cloudy orange coloured body, spotty lacing. Citrus on the nose, mid-dry, inviting. Hop fruity flavours with grapefruit and orange, soft malts beneath. Rounded hop fruity ending with piney bitterness. Nice. (Tallinn, 07.11.2025).
