Description
Quebrada del Chucao es una empresa familiar dedicada a la producción de sidras de calidad en el sur de Chile. Fue creada por los primos Diego Rivera y Matías Nahrwold en 2010 en Huiscapi, Región de la Araucanía, con el propósito de rescatar la tradición de elaborar sidras aportada por los inmigrantes europeos que se establecieron en el sur del país a partir de mediados del siglo XIX.

Gracias a la utilización de tecnologías y procesos modernos en la elaboración de nuestras variedades, hemos logrado una sidra de gran calidad, limpia y fina, que destaca a nivel nacional e internacional. Desde nuestra primera cosecha en 2012, hemos embotellado más de 30.000 litros, los que se han vendido tanto en el mercado interno como en el extranjero, exportando nuestras botellas a Estados Unidos, Canadá, Suecia, Australia, Brasil y Perú.

Además, hemos participado en importantes ferias pertenecientes al circuito de vinos naturales dentro y fuera del país, entre las cuales destacan Naturebas en Brasil y Chanchos Deslenguados en Chile. Esto nos ha permitido posicionar nuestra sidra como un producto premium y muy innovador, y nos ha dado la oportunidad de llegar a un público ávido de nuevas experiencias a la hora de beber, que precisamente busca el contacto directo con el productor y un enfoque artesanal, sin sacrificar calidad.

Actualmente somos parte de la iniciativa inglesa Cider is Wine, un proyecto que reúne a los productores de sidra de manzana y pera de la más alta calidad a nivel global, y que busca darle relevancia al hecho de contar con altos estándares de producción en la industria de la sidra, que permita mostrar al mercado que los fermentados de manzana pueden ser igual de sofisticados y elegantes que los espumantes tradicionales.

On tap at Farmhouse Fest 2018, pours a clear blonde, no head. Aroma brings out fresh champagne yeast, with a bit of funk. Flavour is wonderfully complex, with loads of dry white wine, champagne, and barnyard funk. Vinous and funky. Excellent.

On tap at Farmhouse Fest 2018, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of funky yeast and dry champagne. Flavour is bone dry, with champagne yeast and dry funk. Complex and wonderfully funky. Excellent.

750ml bottle pours a clear gold with some white head. Nose of apples, flowers, honey, a little diaper. Flavor is straight forward, apples, pears. Mostly dry finish.

Bottle at the DC RateBeer tasting. 2015. Slightly hazy golden yellow with off-white head. Aromas of apples. Tastes of apples, champagne. Light body with a dry finish. High carbonation.

Bottle at the January DC Ratebeer tasting. Poured a golden, clear crisp color with a small fizzy head. Aroma was a lot of fresh apples, some light cinnamon apple, with a little dry apple finish.

From a bottle at the DC RB gathering January 7, 2018 it is a clear pale golden color with a slight head. The Aroma is of cinnamon applesauce the taste is thin somewhat sweet

Almost basque style. Golden pour. Some smoke. Light apple and fault here is too watery. Light sweet forward. Not much character like robots.

From a bottle at the DC RB gathering January 7, 2017. Pours a clear pale gold with a scant head. Aroma of cinnamon apple. Flavors are sweet and herbal with a light finish.
