Description
Founder and head brewer Michael loves to spend most of his free time in the mountains and as a keen mountaineer and fell runner he has visited most of Britain's walking and climbing regions. In the past he has also climbed some of the highest mountains in the alps, as well as frozen waterfalls, abseiled down seacliffs in Cornwall (only to climb back up again...), climbed the crags of the Peak District, walked and scrambled extensively in Snowdonia and the Lake District. Closer to home he has battled the Scottish winter (and sometimes the 'summer') to both walk and climb. Some of his more exotic climbing destinations have included rock climbing on the arctic Lofoten islands of Norway and trekking in Kyrgystan. Following a move to Edinburgh, Michael founded Top Out in 2013 with his friend Moo and bringing his passion for climbing to our beers as well.

Can from Greene's of Ellon. Probably my last top out....which is a real shame.it pours hazy golden - blonde with a medium fluffy white head. The aroma is quite fruity, lemon sherbet, lime, grapefruit, melon, tropical, lilt, touch of grass and bread. The taste is crispy, dry, snappy, touch of punchy bitterness, quite light, pithy, zesty, lemon rind, verbena, grapefruit, splash of lily, floral accents, minerality, straw, grass and soda water with a dry finish. Light to medium body and moderate, prickly carbonation. Aroma is rather nice, but the taste is a touch light. Decent anyhow.

Can from Appellation Wines. Appearance - cloudy yellow to orange. Snow white, nicely proportioned head. Nose - lovely notes of gorse and coconut, ripe canteloupe melon and orange. Taste - orange, dessicated coconut, orange zest and a touch resin bitterness. Palate - light bodied, creamy body and then a bitter resinous finish. Overall - loved the nose on this. Slightly more bitter than preferred on the palate but still good.
