Description
Pössneck is a city with a rich brewing tradition. In the 16th century, the beer was exported to cities such as Weimar. The brewery 'bei der Rosenmühle' was built between 1863 and 1866. In 1895 Richard Wagner became the full owner of the brewery. The Wagner family ran the brewery until 1950 when it was nationalized.
After the fall of the Berlin Wall, the great-grandson Nikolaus Wagner of the founder Richard Wagner was able to take over the Pößneck brewery again as manager and continue the family tradition, which has now lasted 130 years.

bottle from Bierzwerg. Clear deep golden colour, mid-sized off-white head. Sweet and malty with some bitterness. Grainy touch and a touch of bacon (?), perhaps very very slightly smoky.

04/05 0.5 l bottle Marko brought from Germany, thanks for sharing! It poured golden to orange body with smaller head. Caramel malt and slightly alcoholic aroma. Sweet malty flavor, chestnut, grain with that caramel maltiness as a base. Medium bodied with longer, warming, even a bit sharp alcoholic finish that was generally sweet. Not bad, but a bit too raw and grainy for my taste.

Bottled 500ml. -Courtesy of Marko, shared with him and heavy. Pale amber coloured, small off-white head, meaty malty nose with hint of alcohol. Sweet malty, light alcoholic and some caramel with hint of grain and metal in the finish. Boring one.

Yup, they changed the label, will put the new pic up ASAP. Purchased in Jena, shared in Zagreb with the rest of the Croatian crew. Poured a light bronze body with a small, thick white head. Light nose, a mix of malt and some alcohol of course, and some nougat. Hmm. Sweet malty taste, very light alcohol, very light nougat again. Not unpleasant really, too one-dimensional, but ok in general.

Bottle, Jena. Grainy malty nose, slightly eggy. Dry empty eggy, slightly malty taste, crappy sweaty hops that carry a slightly acidic note. Meh, passable.

500ml bottle. Clear hazy yellow with rapidly residue-free disappearing average white head. One-dimensional, lemonade-like aroma. Taste is the same, with a very decent hoppy finish. Not far from water.
