375 ml bottle, bb 12/2024. Brown body, with a medium, creamy, beige head. Aroma of creamy chocolate, toffee, coconut, whisky, some dried fruits. Tastes quite similar, while sweeter, with some more honey. Medium, oily body, with a moderate carbonation. Finishes sweet, warm, with whisky, chocolate, honey, toffee, wood. Nice one. Lovely nose, with lots of creamy chocolate. Taste is too sweet though, with quite a lot of alcohol in the finish. Pretty heavy sipper, while still interesting. Score: 8 / 4 / 7 / 3 / 14

375 ml bottle, bb 12/2024. Dark copper-brown body, with a medium, creamy, beige head. Aroma of tannins, leather, dark grapes, wood, some vanilla, some caramel, slight dark chocolate. Tastes quite similar, while a bit sweeter, with more vanilla. Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation. Finishes warm, sweet, vinous, a bit wooden, slightly leathery, with caramel, some grapes. Very nice. Lovely wine barrel notes, that fit very well with the Dubbel notes. Quite complex and smooth, really interesting. Score: 8 / 4 / 7 / 4 / 15

BB 12/2024. almost black color, small coffee colored head. smells of tannins, wood, light red wine, marzipan, nutty, dried fruits, very nice smell. full body, soft carbonation. tastes marzipan, nutty, bit woody, dried fruits, light cocoa, light red wine, light tannins. finishes bit dry with notes of dried fruits, marzipan and some grape notes. nice one, rather obvious red wine notes, good to drink, ABV is quite subtle and well hidden. good one

375 ml bottle, bb 12/2024. Dark copper-brown body, with a medium, creamy, beige head. Aroma of toffee, chocolate, dark honey, dried fruits, brown sugar. Tastes quite similar, while boozier. Medium, oily mouthfeel, with an average carbonation. Finishes sweet, moderate roasty, a bit boozy, fruity, with caramel, dark chocolate, brown sugar. Nice one, while pretty heavy for the ABV, with quite a lot of alcohol noticeable. Otherwise quite sweet and malty. Solid stuff overall. Score: 7 / 4 / 7 / 3 / 13

BB 12/2024. dark brown color, small off white head. smells marzipan, nutty, dried fruits, some cherries, very nice smell. full body, soft carbonation. tastes peppery, earthy, bitter, light marzipan, green herbal, light dried fruits. finishes bit bitter and lightly sweet with notes of green herbs, peppery and dried fruits. lovely smell, taste is a bit weird though and rather bitterish. balance is a bit off here. Overall just drinkable.

Ein wirklich gemütliches Bier, dass sich durch seine Hopfigkeit erfreut. Es hat keine besonders tiefgründigen Aromen und Alkohollastigkeit, aber dafür eine feine Spritzigkeit, welche im Kern eine grasige Hopfennote hat. Es war wirklich schön komponiert, aber man könnte mehr rausholen.

Ein starkes Bier, das aber gar nicht so schwer rüberkommt. Es hat einen ordentlichen Hopfenkern und gutem Abgang nach Hollunder, Pfeffer und Zitronengras. EIn Bier, dass zwar von der großen Brauerei kommt, aber doch wirklich kreativ und verspielt wirkt

Draught at the brewpub, small bubbly head, quite clear orange to red color, aroma of guava and passion fruit with some straw and light malt, malty flavor, some caramel and fruit, noticable mellow bitterness. Clean, very good.

Kalea-Bier-Adventkalender 2019 (Österreich-Edition) Dieses Bier trank ich schon mal vor eingen Jahren als "Hausmarke 2 Session IPA" und jetzt kann ich es mal ordentlich bewerten. Inzwischen kommt es nicht mehr in der Seidl-Flasche, sondern in der Dose. Dort ist mal ein nettes, wahrscheinlich juristisches, Kuriosum zu sehen: Unter AT: wird es als Kreativbier-Schankbier beschrieben, während es unter CH: als Bier und unter IT als birra gelistet ist. Also in Österreich ist es ein Kreativbier, während es die Schweizer und Italiener bloß als Bier bezeichenen. Geschmacklich finde ich es toll, auch wenn mir die Ottakringer-Brauerei nicht so sympatisch ist. Es hat wirklich feine grasige Noten mit Mango, Maracuja und Zitrone -wirklich toll komponiert.
